2022 is here and it’s time to mix up your content! We’ve put together some suggestions that will add zest to your content as we kick off the year!     

Guestographics 

Featuring both images and text Guestographics are generally published on or linked to other websites and often created in collaboration with other brands for specific purposes. Guestographics are an effective way to build brand awareness and establish stable connections, whilst also providing quality backlinks to help your SEO strategy.

Instructographics

Instructographics are a popular and effective way to explain complex data in an easy to digest format. Instructographics tell people how to do something and work well for step-by-step instructions or other how-to guides and are only limited by your creativity!  They are an excellent way to share content and have a higher potential for creating awareness of your brand. 

Storyboards

Storyboards are a visual sequence of useful information such as text, images, design, and illustrations. They allow the viewer to visualise the whole story from the beginning to end frame. Creating a storyboard is a good way to organise any type of information that needs a systematic approach.

Carousel

Carousel posts on social media are becoming a more attractive content type for marketers.  On social media they are earning higher average engagement rates as opposed to single photos and videos.

Popular on social media platforms you can create carousel images in a PDF format and upload the file to linkedin. On Instagram you can choose and upload different images and/or videos. However, it’s important to upload them in the right order and to increase engagement, make sure you tell people to “swipe left” on carousels with messages. Furthermore, with Facebook, slide shows are available on your page’s cover image or as an individual post. You need to click on the photo/video option and upload your images or video in sequential order.

Whiteboard videos

Whiteboards have been utilised for a long time with designers utilising markers to explain a point or product in a visually attractive way.  As they create, the video camera is tracking their every move. Some companies utilise this type of content for corporate video training because they can have a stronger impact than reading a handbook or watching someone read from a script. Whiteboard content can work for almost anything that can be illustrated. Most importantly, they create a curiosity factor as viewers wait to see how the rest of the story comes together. The beauty of them is that you don’t need to have special skills to create whiteboard videos, just a little bit of practice, imagination, and inspiration! 

Screencast videos

By using your computer screen and microphone, you can show and narrate content. Screencasts work particularly well to show how to do something or to solve a problem step by step. Screencasts can also save time by answering the most re-occurring  questions.  You can create video lessons, tutorials, training videos, and recorded presentations using this content format and add a personal touch in ways that other methods can’t!

AR-powered

To increase engagement and excite your audience include Augmented-reality experiences that will immerse them into your story. Gamification works well and provides an additional narrative. Utilising social media networks as a resource are a great option for your brand and can result in impressive views!

Ephemeral posts

Ephemeral content, is also known as time-restricted content and is a great way to help your brand stay fresh for your target audience. The visual content’s short life span (up to 24 hours) taps into your followers’ fear of missing out on something interesting.

Instagram and Facebook Stories are great examples of this as they disappear a day after they’re posted. This style of content is useful for taking followers behind the scenes, reading the room and seeing what people are talking about.

In 2022 it’s all about freshening up your content, choosing what content formats your audience prefers to consume and surprising and delighting them! However, it’s always important to keep in mind your target market, demographics and objectives and goals – go on get creating!
