Add value to your website with testimonials

Feedback form

Customer testimonials are extremely important for your website as they help you to look more valuable and more believable. However, many businesses overlook the importance of obtaining client endorsements and fail to utilise one of their greatest marketing assets to ultimately help sell their products.  We’ve put together some points why your customer is seriously your biggest asset and why you should be utilising them to add value to your website!

Trust

A customer testimonial can often be enough to earn the trust of your visitors. This is because, first and foremost, they are proof that you have customers and are therefore a legitimate business and not some sort of online scam. Secondly, testimonials are positive reviews from previous customers. The more testimonials you have, the more your visitors will resonate trust for your company.

Referrals

People tend to trust other consumers over businesses, and for good reason. Few people will trust a business because they'll assume that their end goal is just to get their money. Customer testimonials work like referrals, convincing your visitors that they can rely on your business.

Benefits

Customer testimonials are effective in explaining how beneficial your product or service is.  A great customer testimonial will include what the customer’s need was and how your product or service was to the solution you needed.

Emotive

It's a lot easier for visitors to connect with other customers than it is for them to connect with the  CEO of a company. If they can relate to the customers in your testimonials, it will be easier for them to relate to your brand.  Emotional connections are powerful tools when it comes to converting new customers. Be sure to use the names and pictures of the customers providing the testimonials to make it even easier for visitors to connect with them on an emotional level.

Traceability

Anyone can say a testimonial was written by John Smith from X but how do your prospects know it’s legitimate? In essence they don’t but the best way to quell scepticism is to make your testimonials “traceable”.  You can do this by including a link to the customers website or portfolio or create a case study highlighting why your product or service was needed, how it added value and what it achieved.

And don’t forget – testimonials don’t have to be written! Why not try Video? Bringing your testimonial to life by using video is a fantastic way to promote your product or service and create instant empathy. People buy from people and when potential customers can physically see somebody endorsing your business it creates a far greater opportunity for them to become an actual customer.
