The Best Marketing Campaigns of 2017

It’s come to that time of year where we’re rounding up all of the best digital campaigns of 2017. Let’s get some inspiration for 2018 by delving into the campaigns that have captured our attention, inspired customers and helped connect brands with their audience this year.

Heineken

Heineken’s #Open Your World campaign was centred on essentially bringing people together to talk about their differences over a beer.

The campaign saw Heineken bring together people who had polar opposite viewpoints - someone who was transgender, someone who didn’t understand it, a feminist/anti-feminist, a climate change activist and someone who didn’t believe climate change was real. They then had to do a range of activities together to build a bar, whilst building up rapport and getting to know each other whilst doing so.

Check out the campaign below and see what happened.

Macmillan

Macmillan Cancer Support 'A dad with cancer is still a dad'

Macmillan have created a series of adverts with a brief snapshot into the world of someone who has cancer. It is a poignant reminder of the work of Macmillan nurses and how cancer doesn’t define someone.

ALDI

We had to mention a Christmas advert and Aldi’s ad makes the list. Aldi’s Christmas advert was voted number one festive advert this year.

Following on from last year, Kevin the Carrot makes another appearance this Christmas. He avoids becoming the standard snowman nose and feasts on a midnight express train and finds love along the way.

Check out the cute campaign here.

Burger King

Burger King’s hidden camera experiment saw bystanders calling out bullies and defending the victim. It showed how bullying can be stopped right there and then in the moment. The advert received thousands of tweets and had an influx of celebrities including Kim Kardashian tweeting about it. It’s purpose based advertising and built up a media storm. Not sure what bullying has to do with burgers but either way this advert packs a punch.

Heinz

It would be rude not to finish on the advert from the ultimate Don - Don Draper that is. Mad Men's Don Draper came up with this creative vision over 50 years ago. The simplicity of the advert symbolises how food is simple until you add a heniz product and complements a range of food. Here's the finished advert below.

Which adverts are your favourites from 2017? Will you be using any of these adverts as inspiration in 2018?
